About the Ministry

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation is the federal executive body responsible for the development of state policy and legal regulation in the field of higher education and related additional professional education, as well as scientific, technical and innovative activities and federal centers and high technologies, state scientific centers and science cities. All institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences are now under jurisdiction of Ministry.

Formed on May 15, 2018 in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

Since January 21, 2020, the Ministry is headed by Valery Falkov.
